TitleStock account vouchers and receipts from Hippuff and Davies billbrokers
DescriptionOriginal bundle. From October 1819 Thomas Mortlock's name alone appears on the vouchers, in July 1819 both his and Frederick Cheetham Mortlock's names appear. Included are several covering letters, and correspondence between James Esdaile Hammet and Thomas Mortlock concerning purchase and sale of stock: Letter from JEH to 'M', concerning stock etc., 'my sincere and earnest wish is that success equal to your most sanguine expectations may prove the reward of your laudable exertions' , 4 March 1817; Letter from Esdaile and Co. with advice to sell stock as account overdrawn, and large advance required, 17 October 1820; Declarations by Mary Ann Mortlock of Cambridge and Charles Mortlock of Abington to transfer stocks to Thomas Mortlock, with stock account vouchers, December 1825 (c. 110 items).
