TitleGrange [Arbers] Farm
DescriptionThis sizeable farm, created after Inclosure from the 347 acres allotted to John Mortlock in the north-east of the parish, bounded by the A11 to the east and the Roman road (Wool Street) to the north; the copy of the Inclosure map (dated April 1807) in 509/6/4/1/4 has pencilled addition showing that John Mortlock had recently bought adjacent land once owned by Edmund Fisher and Samuel Cox. It is not clear exactly where, in the immediate post-Inclosure years, the eastern boundary lay. The present (2015) farmhouse had been built by 1810, though lease of 1825 (509/6/4/4/3) refers to demolition and re-building in 1824. By 1825, 180 acres of land owned by the heirs of Jeremiah Lagden was added to the farm (509/6/4/4/3).
