DescriptionE. J. Mortlock, nephew to Thomas Mortlock and his heir, both to the estate and at the Bank, lived in Abington, though not in the Hall. He preferred Abington Lodge, spending money on repairs and household expenses. He was very much the village squire, founding the cricket and rifle clubs and contributing to the building of the school.
