DescriptionThe Lintons were of Freiston and Buckden, at Stirtloe House, Buckden. John Linton intermarried with the Trollope family through Isabella Trollope of Casewick, Lincolnshire. John Brown son of Lancelot Brown of Hampton Court married Mary Linton and lived at Stirtloe House, Buckden c1802. The collection contains deeds (wills, family settlements, and other conveyances) for the Linton and Trollope families and land in Buckden Estate; and various correspondence, including legal, family, household, financial and official papers.
