DescriptionBundle of papers concerning the Steam Packet "Swiftsure", which was hired by Bedford Level Corporation in September 1821. In March 1822, it ran aground at Corton Sands and later struck the central arch of London Bridge. Contains an agreement for the hire or purchase of a steamboat; the protest of Captain Algar, correspondence; notes and bills for repairs.
