TitlePetition of Several of the Landowners in Fordham and Denver
DescriptionThe petitioners own 1,250 acres of lands on the east side of the River Ouse and on the north side of the Hilgay River, which are much damnified by upland waters from the Twenty Four Foot Drain and Roxham Drain. They ask for Roxham Drain to be dammed up at the upper end of Fordham Grounds, to confine the flood waters to the Hilgay River. Otherwise, they ask for stops to be set up at the upper end of Fordham Grounds and at the tunnel into the Twenty Four Foot Drain under the Hilgay River, to prevent their lands from flooding. Twenty five signatories.
