TitlePetition of the Commissioners, Owners and Occupiers of Lands in Upwell, Outwell, Denver and Welney
DescriptionThe petitioners have applied twice to the Bedford Level Corporation for [an allotment] to be laid out to repair the north bank of the Old Bedford River below Welney. They represent that these repairs were not done at the right time, and that they have had to lay out large sums of money mending and cradging the bank. They have paid out £72:9s:4½d for the works done so far, but have received nothing from the Receiver General. They have suffered a great loss of crops, and ask the Corporation's officers to repair as much of the bank as possible with the money remaining. Twenty nine signatories.
