TitlePetition of the Owners of Certain Lands in Sutton and Mepal Level
DescriptionThe petitioners represent that the Forty Foot Bank and Black Bank are both in a very ruinous condition between Groom's Corner, Welches Dam and Roger's house, as a result of carriages passing along them and the continual floods on it. They also report that the [Counterwash] Drain is overgrown between the Old Bedford River and Sutton Gault. They ask for financial assistance towards the costs of repairing the banks and scouring the drain, and are willing to advance the same amount. Fifty three signatories.
