DescriptionComprises plans and elevations of additions and expansions of the hospital between 1889 and 1899: a home for nurses, a proposed new administrative block including plans for drainage, a disinfector, proposed new coal house and ward partitions, proposed additions to the laundry, a proposed ward for Diphtheria patients, additions to the sanatorium, and a coach house and mortuary. Additions between 1905-1915 including proposed land acquisition, a proposed discharge block, additions and remodeling of the scarlet fever block and the observation block, a proposed new perimeter wall, proposed additions to the administrative block, and proposed additions to the Nurses block. Additions between 1922-1928 include proposed additions of a smallpox block, a new iron staircase, plans of the existing and proposed new laundry including blue prints of laundry equipment, and a proposed new heating system. Additions between 1930-1939 include proposed hot water piping, the widening of the road past the hospital, a proposed new building for water softening apparatus, suggested layout for isolation cubicle block, block plans showing proposed future developments, and a proposed house on Seymour Street. Additions during the 1940s include proposed huts for isolation blocks including specifications for building materials, suggested layouts and adaptations for use of living huts as hospitals, proposed adaption of mortuary for garage use and multiple site plans.
