DescriptionThese contracts, tenders, bonds and sureties, are between the Improvement Commissioners and individual contractors engaged in building sewers, 1840-1885; supplying gas for street lighting, 1825-1882; laying paving, 1846-1888; masonry, 1876-1887; supplying gravel and stone, 1881-1886; casual work, 1882-1887; building work, 1883-1884; haulage, 1877-1889; dredging the river, 1883-1887; refuse collection, 1884-1889; scavenging work, 1844-1889; contracts for the discharge of the office of rate collector, 1870-1898; discharging the office of treasurer, 1879-1884; discharging the office of ambulance driver, 1886; applications for the delivery and collection of voting papers, 1886; lease of the tolls for one year to Messrs John and Frederic Cain, 1865; and an agenda for a meeting of the Improvement Commissioners to seal various contracts in 1882.
