DescriptionThe Great Eastern Railways bill, promoted by the Great Eastern Railway Co, outlining the need to make two new junctions, and remove their liability to pay a yearly £1000 toll to the Commissioners. This series relates to the Commissioners opposition to the bill and includes: a copy of the Great Eastern Railway bill; plans of the proposed new junctions; notices calling meetings of the Commissioners, owners and rate-payers of the Borough to consider an application to oppose the bill; resolutions and a petition to parliament in opposition to the bill; correspondence between the Commissioners and the Local Government Board; and minutes of the proceedings of the Commons select committee on railway bills.
