DescriptionThis material relates to arbitration heard before the Rev GB Finch and Dr Kenny, between the Improvement Commissioners and their clerk, CW Palmer, over the clerk's bills for law expenses in particular, for the Colleges bill, 1886; a provisional order to acquire land; opposition to the Great Eastern Railway; and a general bill for contracts, bonds, agreements and cases for the opinion of counsel. It consists of clerks bills, Frederic Randall, for 1842-44 and minutes relating to a reduction in his expenses; clerks bills 1866-1889; and the case for the opinion of HH Asquith and supporting papers.
