Description(1) George Venables, Agden, Cheshire, gent., son and heir of Margaret Venables, late wife of John, of Agden, Esq. and lately called Margaret Spencer, one of the daus. and co-heirs of Hon. Rich. Spencer, late of Orpington, Kent, Esq., decd. (2) Sir John Conyers, Great Staughton, Bart. Robert Apreece, Washingley, Esq. John Ferrar, the elder, Little Gidding, Esq. (3) John Mason, St. Ives, gent. In pursuance of Articles of Agreement of 15 Feb. 1689 between John Venables and (3) and for 5/- from (2) to (1) at direction of (3). (1), at direction of (3), to (2). Adventures land (45a.) in Berry Moe Fen in parish of Berry cum Hepmangrove and within Bedford Level, now in tenure of James Sharpe. 81a. of Adventure Land in Connington Severalls in Bedford Levell in tenure of Richard Racey, all part of the 95,000a. allotted for dreyning of the said Great Levell, and were formerly the inheritance of the said Richard Spencer with all deeds etc. (1) promises to levy fine before Mich. Term next in favour of (2) of said premises, to use of (2) and heirs. (1) to do any necessary deeds of further assurance. Entered with the Governors of the Co. of Conservators of Bedford Level 25 July, 1701 pursuant to an Act of 15 Chas.II. Endorsed: The original is in the hands of Mr. Jonathon Nicholls of Bury by Ramsey with which this copy was truly executed by us.
