TitleLease and Release
Description(1) Susanna Campbell, Blunham, Beds, widow. (2) The Rt. Hon. Peter, Lord Gwydir, Baron Gwydir of Gwydir, Co. Carnarvon, Deputy Great Chamberlain of England, only son and heir at law of Elizabeth, late the wife of Peter Burrell, Esq., decd, ((1) and Elizabeth Burrell being the 2 only children and co-heirs at law of John Lewis, late of St. Sepulchre's, London, Esq., decd.) Recites: (i) Will of John Lewis dated 1 July, 1737 leaving everything to his daus. as tenants-in-common. (ii) Marriage settlement of 23 March, 1748 of Peter Burrell, the younger, and Elizabeth Lewis. (iii) Lease and Release of 19/20 June, 1754. (iv) Death of Peter Burrell, the father and hereinafter granted messuage and hereditaments being held by him in his lifetime and then by (2). (v) Death of Elizabeth Burrell in 1794, having made her will on 15th Nov. 1782, leaving (2) as residuary legatee. (vi) Said messuage and hereditaments descending to (2) on the death of his mother but no conveyance ever having been made of the moiety which belonged to (1). (vii) (2) has requested (1) to make such a conveyance and she has agreed. Now (1) to (2) for 10/-. Moiety of 7a. 1r. of arable land, 3a. leys and 2a. meadow ground in Alc. And messuage called The Swan and adjoining croft (1a) in Weston, Hunts. And all other lands formerly the estate of James Ravenscroft, Esq. decd. in Alc. W. or elsewhere in Hunts which were conveyed to the said John Lewis. Usual covenants. (1) to do any necessary deeds of further assurance.
