TitleLease and Release
Description(1) John Campbell, Blunham, Beds., Esq. (only son and heir of Susannah Campbell, widow of John Campbell, late of Blunham, formerly a Col. in H.M. Army and Lieut. Gov. of Chelsea Hosp., also decd. (2) William Green, Alconbury, farmer. Recites: (i) Lease and Release of 15/16 Dec. 1796. (ii) Alc. and W. Inclosure Award of 5 Aug. 1793 awarding to Sir Peter Burrell, Bart, one piece of freehold land (107a.38p.) in the Wold Common and Broad Hay Field, Alc. (boundaries given). (iii) Feoffment of 21 May, 1808. (iv) Settlement made previous to the marriage of John and Susanna Campbell (then Lewis) in 1761. (v) Death of John Campbell on 25 April, 1773. (vi) Death of Susanna Campbell w'out her committing any act whereby she could divest herself of her estate in a moiety of the said freehold estates at Alc. (vii) Intended that release of 16 Dec. 1796 should convey not only the hereditaments therein described but also under the description of all other the estate late of the said James Ravenscroft the several pieces of arable land given by John Lewis to his daus. and in lieu whereof the said Encl. Comms. had awarded the several allotments aforesaid, but doubts having arisen as to whether the said release of 16 Dec. 1796 did convey the said pieces of arable land and legally vest them in Peter, Lord Gwydir, to obviate such doubts and to vest the same in (2), (2) has requested (1) to make the release and confirmation hereinafter contained. Now, in execution of said Agreement and for 10/- (1) to (2). Moiety of said allotment (114a.1p) awarded to Peter, Lord G. by said Encl. Award and described in feoffment of 21 May, 1808, all now in occup. of John Halls. And all right of (1) in the same.
