TitleDeclaration of tenants of lands in Upton late Jeoffry Hull's now John Warner's.
DescriptionThat lands are held and used in such manner and on such agreement as is hereafter mentioned, i.e. 1 piece of arable land called Joyce's piece by William Collins at yearly rent of £5(?) for the next 3 years. Hayton's Close and a little close adjoining by Henry Dickins at yearly rent of £4.5s. till next LadyDay. Close called Pipers piece by John Squire at yearly rent of 50/- until next Lady Day. the 48a. piece by all tenants in Common at yearly rent of £13.19. 0½d. paid as follows: Wm. Collins, 49/-; Marey Hadnam, widow, 49/-; Henry Hall, £1.15s; Edward Palmer, 49/-; Henry Parker, 49/-; James Tayler, 8/2d; Henry Dickins, 61½d; Robert Cave, 61½d; James Midleton, 61½; John Fowler, 3/1d; John Gaunt, 3/1d; Not to plow any part of the said lands (except Joyce's piece), under penalty of 40/- for every acre plowed above the rent reserved to be paid for the same. Tenants to keep the fences of the ancient inclosed ground and to leave them well repaired. Tenants to leave the said several lands only at LadyDay. The dung now upon the 48a. piece to be spread on that piece and no other. Signed by all the tenants.
