| Title | Letter Ro(bert) Mitchell to (Sir John Heathcote) |
| Description | Mitchell's report after seeing the estate at Stukeley. Condition of Manor house, other buildings, land, hedges, etc. Manor house will cost £200 to put in good repair then a man of £1,000 p.a. may live well in it The tax is £65 p.a. at Great Stukeley, 8/4d. p.a. for 3½a. at Little Stukeley. Owner receives the great tythes, vicar the small ones. The moiety of the Manor of Broughton seems to be nothing I would give £10,000 for it (the estate) rather than not have it. I had not time to value the wood but I think it worth £150. |
