Description | Refers to the expences incurred by Officers appointed to Regiments of Militia, who, in compliance with the suggestions of the Secretary of State for the Home Department, attach themselves to Regiments of the Line to obtain instruction in their drill and military duties, Since this instruction is necessary for the efficiency of the Militia Service, an allowance of 5/- per day will be allowed to officers whilst they are so attached. Enclosed: Circular Memorandum from G. Brown, A.G., Horse Guards. The General Commanding in Chief Viscount Hardinge, desires that, on application of Colonels of Militia, Officers Commanding Regiments and Depots of Infantry of the Line will readily afford the means of instruction to Militia Officers. 20th October, 1852 |
