The register entries commence with a memorandum of the election of Edmund German as parish register, 10 Dec. 1653. After composite entries to 1660, burials only are entered for the period 1661-1675. Composite entries, 1691-1709, follow. These are not always in strict chronological sequence. Baptisms and marriages, 1661-1675, and then composite entries, 1676-1691, follow. A note at the beginning of the register states that during the wars entries were made on loose papers, and Thomas Busby and Josiah King entered their daughters names from these papers in to the register. A later memorandum (1709) states that entries from all such papers as could be found were copied into the register. Miscellaneous entries for 1686-1691 appear at the end of the register.
