DescriptionBy his will (proved 1782) John Cannon gave £100 to be used to put to school nine boys of Stonely, to learn to read, until they should be capable of being sent to the free school of Kimbolton. He also directed that a tomb should be erected in his memory, and gave a further £50, the interest from which should be used to keep his tomb in repair and to pay for an annual sermon. Any remainder in this interest was to be used in buying of bread for the poor. See also HP52/18/4
