Description | An account by Burness of a disagreement that took place on Friday the 20th [no month given] between himself, the Shepherd, the Shepherds boy and Mr Purves.
Burness alleges that he asked the Sherpherd if he could borrow his boy for house keeping tasks and leave the Shepherd to tend his sheep alone "which he could easily do if not under any orders by Mr Purves". The Shepherd agreed, but Burness later found the Shepherd had taken the boy back and was countmanding Burnesses orders in doing so. threatened to deduct their wages for every order ignored. States he has not duly resigned his situation. |
