Mentions Lord Liverpool, Lord Conyngham[?], William Curtis, and Sir W. Elliott ("no favourite of any of the ladies"). In response to Millicent's reading of Ivanhoe he explains the background to its publication. Their visit to Cheltenham and improved health of Lady William. Ends with reference to travel plans and visits to old Army comrades.
