January. London. At Stafford House where he drank to the health of the Princess of Wales on her confinement. Very ill with influenza. Hunting and a ball at Kimbolton.

April. Light Horse Volunteer drills. Newmarket with Duchess Louise.

May. Volunteers inspected by Colonel King. Dined at Marlborough House.

June. Installed as Grand Master at North Hunts Lodge. Volunteers inspected by the Prince of Wales at Madingley.

July. Dined with Prince and Princess of Wales and others at Stanhope Street. Saw them again at Wimbledon and Richmond Park.

August. Aldershott to visit Prince Edward of Saxe Weimar. Tandragee.

September. Belfast and then to Scotland.

November. Shooting. Birth of a stillborn child. Louise "low and hysterial" afterwards.

December. To France.
