TitleGodmanchester Salvation Army Band
DescriptionGroup of fourteen members (and one child on a rug at the front of the group holding a triangle) of the Godmanchester Salvation Army Band in full uniform and with their instruments. They appear to be outside the Salvation Army premises in Pinfold Lane in Godmanchester. The Army may not have been so popular when they first appeared in the district in the 1880s. The Hunts Post reported in November 1887 that the Salvation Army band had been treated to a barrage of coarse songs and rotten eggs when they played in Huntingdon. See also WH1/198A
