| Description | The Dominion of Canada, built in Doncaster in 1937, was an A4 class 4-6-2 locomotive designed by Sir Nigel Gresley, the most famous of which was The Mallard. In this view the engine is approaching Huntingdon station, travelling southwards to London. This engine is now preserved in the Canadian Railway Museum at Delson/Saint-Constant, Quebec, near Montreal. The roof of the Huntingdon North No.2 signal box can be seen above the train. A small engine 4-4-2 No. 1259 built 1903 is standing in the sidings - note the figure of driver, there was no closed cab on this engine |
