DescriptionOrders were decided upon by the Chief Constable, on the advice of the Joint Standing Committee, and were distributed to the rest of the Constabulary by means of an Order Book and Regulations. In the early days of the Constabulary every constable copied the latest order into his notebook which he would keep on him at all times.
