TitleCambridge Antiquarian Society
DescriptionThe Cambridge Antiquarian Society was founded in 1840 to provide access for local people to the local history, architecture and archaelogy of Cambridgeshire (which now includes the old County of Huntingdon and the new Unitary Authority of Peterborough). The Society's mission is to strive for the safeguarding, investigation and preservation of Cambridgeshire's past, and to act as a key disseminator of knowledge about the County.

The Society has deposited nearly 3000 glass lantern slides at CRO Cambridge, as well as a manuscript history of Little Shelford, compiled by Fanny Lucretia Wale around 1908-1919 (ref 23/Z2753). Details about all these records are available on this catalogue.

In addition, there are c.8000 photographs of Cambridgeshire held at the Cambridgeshire Collection.
