DescriptionRecites memorandum of partnership September 1814; the dissolution of partnership March 1816; the dissolution of partnership 30 June 1819 whereby Frederick Cheetham Mortlock is to receive £1000 annuity for lives of self and Thomas Mortlock, Thomas Mortlock to purchase Frederick Cheetham Mortlock's moiety (including moiety of £3333 6s 8d furniture) for £54,268 but to retain purchase money to take on bank debts and to indemnify Frederick Cheetham Mortlock; the assignment by Frederick Cheetham Mortlock to Thomas Mortlock of freeholds in Little Abington, St. Edwards Cambridge, leaseholds in Little Abington and St. Botolph's Cambridge and free and copyholds in Swaftham Bulbeck and Balsham valued together at £5189 towards liquidating his debts of £10,350; the assignment dated 31 May 1820 by Frederick Cheetham Mortlock of £1000 annuity to Rev. John Kaye upon trusts until the remaining £5161 be paid and to use £500 of it to pay interest owing on it. Frederick Cheetham Mortlock retires from bank in favour of Thomas Mortlock, promises not to participate in any banking business within 30 miles of Cambridge; Thomas Mortlock releases Frederick Cheetham Mortlock from any possible actions arising from debt of £10,350 excepting his claim to £5161 and Frederick Cheetham Mortlock quits to Thomas Mortlock any actions arising from the £54,268 12s 2d and the £5,189.
