DescriptionQuarterly statements of account to John Mortlock for Richard Rose's board, lodging and attendance (£54 12 per quarter) and expenses (barber, tailor, shoemaker, etc.) at St Albans lunatic asylum, including occasional brief notes of his state of health ('Mr Rose continues in good health and spirits') and a note describing his decline and death from an apoplectic fit with the final statement, 1788-1800. [Richard Rose was admitted to Nathaniel Cotton's Asylum in St Albans in 1784. After Dr Cotton's death in 1788 the asylum was run by Dr Stephen Pellet.]
