DescriptionOf the Manors of Girton, formerly of Ramsey Abbey, and More or More Barns [in Madingley], patronage of the rectory of Girton,the house and site of Black Friars in Derby with gardens, orchards etc adjoining precinct, 8 acres meadow and ½ acre meadow with croft adjacent, 9 cottages and a barn in the parish of St Werburgh, Derby, and a rent of 5 shillings p.a. from a tenement in Orleston (Derbys) recently in tenure of John Porte, knight, recently of the priory of the Friars Preacher. Henry VIII to John Hynde esquire, his faithful counsellor and serjeant-at-law. Consideration: £762 4s 4½d and annual rent of 48s 4d paid to Court of Augmentations. Third great seal of Henry VIII on silk cords, in good condition. (Finely decorated head with portrait of king in majesty within initial and royal emblems along top).
