TitleVolume of antiquarian collections, mainly derived from the Ramsey Abbey Cartulary and Chronicle and from the Thorney Abbey Cartulary [Cotton MS Vit. D.V.; this ms was destroyed in 1731].
DescriptionIncluding copies of early charters of Thorney Abbey (cf C.R. Hart, 'The Early Charters of Eastern England) by Sir Robert Cotton. Cotton's name is written in his own hand on the front page, and also his coat of arms, with explanation of components. On the back page is written in the same hand: 'Elizabeth Brocas (with broch); O that I myt go and se that which I wolld and say coutle me'. (Lacks covers; badly damaged by damp). (For papers relating to the Cottonian library see 588/Z10 and for a volume relating to Cotton family of Conington (Huntingdonshire) see 588/F38).
