DescriptionThe schedules of excommunication were authorised by the Official of the court and describe the accusations against individuals amounting to possible excommunication: the reason for the accusation is usually, but not always, given. The names listed in the descriptions are the excommunicants. The final records of the series, AH13/268/235-250, are mostly absolutions from excommunication, that is where the individual has been accused but the excommunication has been retracted. These records also include a small amount of inserted correspondence concerning some of these absolutions.
