DescriptionThese volumes record the value of procurations and synodals owed to the archdeaconry by parishes in Huntingdonshire and Hertfordshire for visitations. Procurations were paid yearly, originally in the form of victuals 'ratione visitatione' but later as a fixed sum. A synodal is a similar tribute or payment paid to the archdeacon by the inferior clergy at the easter visitation.
