Description... complaining that despite a 3-year proceeding in parliament and obtaining an act of parliament for settlement of dispute the persons still refuse to submit to same by colour of pretended act of May 1649 and have instead presented a bill in Chancery in name of Duke of York and have intruded into debates of corporation, whereby petitioner kept from possession or receipt of rents, praying a short bill for rescuing the drainage ('that noble worke') from ruin and for vindication of the act from the impossible and absurd constructions put upon it
