DescriptionBundle of papers concerning a 1780 Bill to improve the navigation of the River Cam and River Ouse between Clayhithe Sluice and Littleport. Contains copies of the Bill; [William Elstobb's] "Longitudinal Section of the Bottom of the River Ouse from Denver Sluice up to Clay-hithe"; soundings taken in the River Ouse and the Hundred Foot River, and answers of the Promoters of the Cambridge Navigation Bill, to the observations of the Bedford Level Corporation. Also contains a copy of the 1646 petition of the University of Cambridge, against proposals to resume draining of the Fens.
