DescriptionSub-bundle of draft papers, many concerning the conveyance of Adventurers' lands in the Bedford Level. Contains bargains and sales, leases, feoffments, premises and precepts to John Bird; David Ellingham; Sarah Gamble; Steed Girdlestone; William Jones; William Pope; Sir John Russell, Duke of Bedford and John Seaber; and from the Lord of the Manors of Whittlesey St Andrew and Whittlesey St Mary, and the Earl of Hardwicke. Also contains a deed of convenant with the Commissioners of Newburgh Drainage District; draft bonds with Abraham Staffurth, John Hidson, Elizabeth Pond, Stoakley Hutchinson, Abraham Staffurth and George Infield; a draft award concerning the compensation to be paid for flooring in the Washlands; draft proceedings of a Court of Sewers in 1839; a draft abstract of title; draft grant from John Bond, of a right of way in Denver; the report of John Woodrow; draft report of the Registrar about the state of public houses, tolls and fisheries; a plan of the proposed new road between Hermitage and Sutton; two plans of parcels of Adventurers' land sold to Mr Nix and Mr Seaber; notes and correspondence.
