TitleProceedings of the Lords Commissioners of Adjudication
DescriptionTwo volumes, containing the proceedings [minutes] of the Lords Commissioners of Adjudication. The Lords Commissioners mostly met at Middle Temple Hall, London, and heard complaints referred to them under the provisions made in the "Pretended Act" 1649. Two referees were appointed by the Lords Commissioners to investigate each complaint, and subsequently reported back on their findings. The referees had powers from the Court of Chancery to examine any relevant witnesses. The Lords Commissioners then considered the original complaint and the report of the referees, before making their final adjudication on the matter.
