TitleProceedings of the Bedford Level Corporation
DescriptionThirteen volumes, containing the proceedings [minutes] of the Bedford Level Corporation. These volumes contain minutes of meetings held in both London and Ely. After 1809, the Whitsun meeting was held in Ely, in response to pressure from the owners of Adventurers' lands who felt their interests were not being represented at the General Whitsun meeting in London. Over time, the percentage of meetings held at Ely or elsewhere in the Fens increases, especially after the Fen Office moved to Ely in 1846. The business transacted through the year remains much the same as that in the Corporation Orders (BLC2/3/3) and the Conservators' Proceedings (BLC2/3/4).
