TitlePetition of George Smyth
DescriptionThe petitioner's son Offeley Smith inherited 950 acres of Adventurers' lands in Mildenhall Fen and 390 acres of Adventurers' lands in Warboys Fen from his [George Smyth] late father-in-law David Offeley, which are charged with an annuity of £7 a year to the Bedford Level Corporation. He represents that the recent floods have made the lands unprofitable, and that most of this estate is to be sold to pay tax arrears of £28. He asks for the annuity to be discharged, as the rest of the estate is not worth keeping if the annuity continues. One signatory.
