TitlePetition of Owners and Farmers of Land in Upwell, Outwell and Welney
DescriptionThe petitioners represent that their lands are in a very deplorable condition, as the banks of the River Nene are insufficient to contain large quantities of water. They ask for Well Creek to be sufficiently scoured out, for a proper [dam] to be built across the [River Nene] to prevent the waters from Morton's Leam flowing through Horseway Bridge, for the Old Bedford Bank and Sixteen Foot Bank to be sufficiently repaired, and for a tunnel under the Forty Foot Drain to be taken up. Twenty five signatories.
