TitlePetition of the Principal Inhabitants, Proprietors and Occupiers of Lands in Upwell, Outwell and Parts Adjacent
DescriptionThe petitioners report that many farmers have suffered immense damage this last winter and spring, as the flood waters cannot drain from their lands in the Middle Level into the River Ouse. They ask for the lower part of Tong's Drain to be scoured out, for the banks to be raised to a sufficient height and for the sluice doors to be properly repaired. One hundred and fifteen signatories.
