TitleRegisters of Conveyances
DescriptionForty five volumes, recording the [absolute] conveyance of Adventurers’ lands in the Bedford Level between 1649 and 1815. They primarily contain copies of indentures of bargain and sale, but also contain copies of lease and releases, final concords, common recoveries, feoffments, absolute mortgages, last wills and testaments, awards and bonds. Register of Conveyances R59/31/1/D/i also contains translations of Dutch awards, agreements and conveyances. These volumes also occasionally include sketch plans, and schedules detailing the prior conveyancing history of a parcel of Adventurers' land.

These conveyances are not entered in chronological order, but rather by the date that they were registered with the Bedford Level Corporation. Each volume contains an alphabetical index of conveyances registered within, but there is also separate index to this series (R59/31/1/A*).
