Contains several copies of the 1874 Bill; a petition of the Bedford Level Corporation and others against the 1874 Bill; a draft legal brief for the Corporation against the 1874 Bill; a case as to whether the Land Drainage Act 1861 conferred extended powers to the Middle Level Commissioners and Corporation as Commissioners of Sewers, together with the opinions of William Golden Lumley; "Plan of the Bedford Level" (see also R59/31/box39/bundle3); evidence given by Joseph Little and John Newton; draft clauses and provisos; telegrams; notes and correspondence. Also contains copies of the North Level Act 1857, the Local Government Act (1858) Amendment Act 1861; the 1874 Darent Valley Tramway Bill and 1879 Rivers Conservancy Bill; printed specifications for widening the Hundred Foot River in 1824 and "The Report of Mr John Dyson".
