DescriptionBundle of legal papers concerning the Court of Sewers. The Bedford Level Corporation were appointed Commissioners of Sewers for the Bedford Level, and heard any complaints about drainage issues, ordered that issues were resolved and applied penalties. Contains scire facias (summons to appear as a defendant); precepts (summons to attend as a member of the jury); lists of the jury members; lists of those being presented to the Court, together with the reasons for their presentment; proceedings of the Court of Sewers; notes and correspondence.
