Description | Damaged at the head, with treasurers' names and dates wanting. Dated 1514-15 by Palmer in Cambridge Borough Documents on the grounds that it is signed by Henry Hallehead, mayor in that year. But Hallehead does not sign it as mayor but (presumably) as one of the four auditors. As the account includes (Cambridge Borough Documents p.48 and membrane 4) payments to Thomas Thursby, sheriff 1513-14, and Willam Barbour, mayor, 1513-14, for his mayor's robes (a payment made to mayors during their office; cf X/71) it must be of a year earlier. John Burgeyse and Robert Wolf are mentioned as treasurers during the previous year, not the current year. Note on wrapper that seen by WMP 3 June 1930.
