DescriptionComprises copies of the Conveyance and Assignment of the General Cemetery at Histon Road from the Trustees of the Cambridge General Cemetery Compnat to the Corporation of Cambridge, 17 Jun 1936; a memorandum as to facts relating to the Cambridge General Cemetery Company, 19 Mar 1935; summary legal opinion of the position of the Corporation as to whether to take over the burial ground, a report to the Commons and Cemetery Committee, 21 Mar 1935; and correspondence between the Town Clerk and Peters, Elworthy and Moore, Chartered accountants, the Borough Surveyor and solicitors Guy W Stanley and Shaw, 1935-1936, relating to the process of taking responsibility for the burial ground. The file also contains correspondence relating to Tithe redemptions, 1938; the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments Cambridge City Inventory, 1955; and safety issues relating to the condition of the chapel in 1958.
