| Description | During First World War, the Borough recruited special constables to assist the police force in the absence of members of the force fighting abroad. On the return of these officers the Special Constables were sent a certificate to thank them for their valuable service and a sealed copy of the resolution of the Council to do so. The file contains a list of special constables who served during the ward, and copies of template letter, sealed copies of the council resolution, and a blank copy of the certificate. |
