TitleRegisters of mortgages, mortgage interest registers and registers of transfers of mortgages
DescriptionThis series consists of registers of mortgages taken out by the Corporation featuring the name of the mortgagee, their residence and description, the amount, date and term of the loan, the interest rate, the purpose of the loan, security against the loan, if transferred and the date when paid off. The volumes are arranged chronologically by date of when the loan was taken out but some older loans, payable over a longer period, feature at the back of volumes to evidence when they have been paid back. The volumes are indexed at the beginning by name of mortgagee. The registers of transfers of mortgages contain details of the holder of the mortgage at the date of the transfer, a consecutive number for the transfer, the name, address and status of the original holder; the name, address and description of the person the stock is transferred to and the folio number in the Mortgage register. The mortgage interest registers provide details of loans owed by the Corporation to pay for public works, improvements and passing of legislation. The volume is arranged by date by half yearly accounts and contains the number and purpose of the loan, the mortgagee, their address, the value of the loan, the interest rate, the term of the loan, interest over the term, and value of tax payable. There is also a single register of particulars for insertion in mortgage deeds.
