TitleCommittee minutes, report books and papers
DescriptionReport books containing the minutes of multiple committees and their reports and recommendations to the Cambridge Improvement Board. The volumes are arranged chronologically, with each committee listing members present, the date of the meeting, issues discussed and reports or recommendations made. Each volume is indexed alphabetically.

Prominent committees include the finance committee, the gas committee, the lamp committee, the general purposes committee, the paving and draining committee, the graveyards committee, the tolls committee, the parliamentary committee and the sanitary committee. There are also multiple committees formed to investigate specific nuisances, conduct surveys or bring new legislation into operation.

Each committee reports on issues relevant to its function; the lamp committee features applications for new gas lighting, recommends sights for new lights and makes cost estimates for undertaking the work. The paving and drainage committee recommends the installation of new drains or laying of new pavement and reports on cases where the responsibility for work falls to a proprietor instead of the Commission. Later volumes, from 1885, were split into different volumes for each Committee.
