TitleTrumpington Parish Council special rate book
DescriptionThis rate was raised for the special expenses chargeable under Section 230 of the Public Health Act 1875. Section 229 of the Act lists these expenses as the construction, maintenance and cleansing of sewers in any contributory place within the district, the providing a supply of water to any such place, and maintaining any necessary works for that purpose. The rate book records details of owners, occupiers, descriptions and names and locations of properties to be rated, their rateable value, amount rated and collected. Signed by the Overseers and stamped by two Justices of the Peace and the District Auditor.
